NACO: Tell us a bit about you and your company?

ADAM: Having supplied the market sector roofing products for over 20 years, developing solar power with battery storage to compliment the roof sheets was a must. With developments in the technology Solar Structures was created to provide the modular home market with sensible options to attaining carbon neutral status and the capability of generating significant cost savings for individuals and site owners alike. Options range from solar kits for homes to accommodate all roofing materials, solar fields, car park solar and traditional roof top arrays, all with battery storage.

NACO: What sets you guys apart?

ADAM: We cater for all. We offer individuals retrofit kits. Understand the roofing products which I have been supplying for over 20 years. Work with manufacturers to integrate the kits with their designs. Discuss and design the most cost-effective solutions for site owners offering a mix of options to generate required amounts of power for growth and goals as cost effectively as possible.

NACO: Can you charge an EV (electric vehicle) with the system?

ADAM: I see this area to be a concern. Most holiday makers travel some distance to the sites, which many only have a handful of charging points. The increase in EV drivers is increasing massively year on year so the demand for charging points will increase, holiday makers will only travel to places where they can come back from. Site owners need to consider how they get the extra energy required. We offer different solar options to cover this area.

NACO: Can people monitor the output from an app?

ADAM: Technology is developing very fast in this sector. Data logging stick can connect to a router and transmit data to the webserver, realising remote monitoring for users. Sites can see how much the complete compliment of solar is generating as can the individual for their own home.

NACO: How long does a standard installation take?

ADAM: It should take no longer than 4 hours, weather conditions and accessibility are the biggest problems. We install the colour coded brackets, panels, fixing clips, inverter and battery with all wiring and accessories for a 4 KW system, complete and tested in 4 hours. Depends on how much tea we get offered!
